EUGENIE-LES-BAINS
The commune of Eugénie-les-Bains was created in 1861 from a district of Saint-Loubouer, whose thermal waters were known to the Romans and appreciated by Montaigne and Henri IV.

The new commune was named in honor of Empress Eugénie de Montijo, who took advantage of her frequent trips to Biarritz to take the waters and attend the inauguration.
The Eugénie-les-Bains springs are renamed Impératrice and Christine-Marie. Their temperature at emergence ranges from 20 to 38°C, and their composition is :

? Source Impératrice: sulfate, sodium bicarbonate;
? Source Christine-Marie: sulfide, sodium sulfate, calcium, magnesium, rich in thermal plankton.

Pick up Eugénie’s circuit at the tourist office, or follow the guide on a guided tour of the spa.
